The Cheese Factory

Last Saturday we decided to venture North of the Golden Gate to the land of dairy and cheese. Yes, I know, there’s lots of wine up there, but it turns out there’s also some cheeseries (ok, probably not a word) or cheese makers up there too. We decided to visit a French cheese maker named Rouge et Noir in Petaluma. The location is wonderful (after finding it) Turns out that AT&T service isn’t there so no iPhone/iPad navigation :-O and all I have to say is OnStar saved the day again.

The cheese was wonderful, they also have wine, crackers, salami, etc. It was really quite a nice afternoon visit and isn’t too far from the City. I recommend you check it out if you enjoy French cheese.

On the way back we came across this beautiful church and I was able to grab a few shots. The late afternoon light on the colors and textures were really quite wonderful. I’ve included a shot of it here as well as a statue which was just inside the fence. All in all it was a wonderful and relaxing afternoon exploring Marin.
