Memorial Day
I haven’t posted in a while. Life events have intruded upon my passion for photography. I’m still very much committed to it, but with my Dad being sick and passing away, my first photography show and my obligations at work, major shooting and processing time has kind of gotten away from me. Well, I’m happy to say that I’m back and that I took some time to shoot over the weekend and am happy with the results. My first post this week is in celebration of Memorial Day.
This Memorial Day has special meaning for me in that my Dad was a veteran of World War II and served in the Navy. The Navy was kind enough to send sailors to his funeral and it was an honor for me to experience that. Over the last couple of days I visited Golden Gate National Cemetery and the Presidio of San Francisco in honor of the holiday. The images here represent the images and feeling, and most importantly, my gratitude for my Dad and those who put themselves in harms way so that I can live, work and take pictures.
Absolutely wonderful photos, JJ. Glad to have you back, and I hope all is going well.
Thank you! It’s definitely good to be back and shooting, and more important to have the full passion around it again. Let’s plan to get out soon since the weather is getting better.
